Coming
soon in 2006! Painting holiday pilgrimages for art pilgrims! Included
in the art holiday package is accomodation at either a rustic cottage
or a villa with pool in the centre of the island; trips to the many
temple sites located on the island; walks and outdoor painting in
the beautiful countryside around the southern seaside town of Birzebbugia...all
in all a holiday thats bound to be educational, inspiring and most
of all...memorable!
Your tutor for Paint Malta Courses is Caroline S. Lawrence. Trained
at St.Martin's College, London, Caroline has worked extensively throughout
the Middle East for over 25 years and recently decided to return to
her native home island of Malta.
The
course is designed to serve the double purpose of developing watercolour
skills and increasing awareness about Malta's incredibly rich heritage
of temple culture. Non-painting partners are most welcome and although
an itinerary and transport will be arranged, outside the lesson
times, all participants are free to 'do their own thing' if they
so wish.

|
The
2006 course dates are not yet confirmed. Courses normally run from
Friday to Thursday (participants are advised to fly out to the island
on Thursday to allow for a fresh start on Friday morning). The course
is designed to be informally instructive and, most importantly,
provide you with a fun-filled painting experience. It consists of
five days of tuition and one midweek day is left free for you to
do whatever you wish. We will be happy to advise you on where to
go and what to see.
The
course is tailored to suit people who have at least some experience
with watercolours so that as much time as possible can be spent
on actual painting rather than learning the ropes. Whether you are
timid or confident, your tutor will guide you towards a deeper understanding
of the medium, how to see and interpret colour, how to create good
compositions and how to make your paintings vibrant and striking.
For an example of your tutor's paintings of Malta, click here.
Caroline also has a portfolio of her Middle Eastern work which you
can view on her website: www.hlawrenceart.com
and her latest work can be seen at: www.cs-lawrence.com
It
would be helpful if you were to bring along some examples of your
work (or photographs will do fine). You can then discuss with your
tutor where your strengths and weaknesses lie. This will help your
tutor to pinpoint, from the start, what aspects of painting/drawing
you should focus on. At the end of the course, we will be very happy
to exhibit some of your work on this website.
